NEW BUILD SERIES
We are expanding
Our extensive new build series is off to a flying start, having enjoyed a successful launch in 2017. The 86-metre long-tankers are constructed with hulls from Serbia and the superstructures from Breko Shipyard in the Netherlands.
The primary objectives are to achieve greater efficiency and a reduction in emissions. The Breko design offers a 10% increase in cargo capacity compared to vessels of a similar size, with a loading capacity of 1,631 tonnes.
The Type C tankers are powered by two Tier III-compliant Volvo engines, which deliver 1,100 hp directly to both propellers via two shafts.
The hull and stern have been redesigned to enhance their functionality and performance. The shafts have been realigned to provide optimal guidance, with a 5° inward bend at the stern, mirroring the design of the propellers. This configuration results in a single propeller jet for more efficient propulsion.
In addition, a triple rudder system from Van der Velden has been installed. This system comprises three blades: the outer blades are designed as profiled rudders, while the centre blade is a so-called fishtail. The aim is to increase the performance of our ships.
