All our skippers hold an ADN certificate of competence to safely handle dangerous goods. An efficient industrial safety organisation and first-aid training for the crew members are crucial to ensure safety of people and cargo.

B. Dettmer Reederei is involved in various HSSE programs and constantly defines itself high targets, like by participating in Platform Zero Incidents (PZI), to avoid possible accidents and hazards from happening.

Mr. Versluis is responsible for EBIS tasks and carries out both pre-EBIS inspections and nautical inspections for the shipping company. Mr. Versluis has been ADN dangerous goods officer for 15 years and ADR dangerous goods officer for one year. Mr. Versluis founded "IST Consulting" five years ago and has since been providing customers in the inland shipping sector with expertise in the dangerous goods sector. This applies to both tanker and dry shipping. Mr. Versluis previously held the position of Q-HSSE Manager at a Dutch shipping company with 14 tankers for a decade.

Mr Versluis has been working on barges since the age of 16. He gained invaluable experience as a skipper, working on stainless steel tankers in the heavy chemical industry and on mineral oil tankers.
